Guruv Yoga has an extensive retail and waiting area, where you can relax, read, check out our guruvy retail, or (quietly) visit with other yogi’s. The 2,500 square foot studio has THREE distinct YOGA SPACES!

Our Main Studio is a large, open and airy sanctuary, with natural bamboo flooring throughout… brimming with PRANA, surround sound,”mood” lighting, and all the mats and props a yogi could wish for….hold onto your bandhas and enjoy the blissful ride. Our small intimate Meditation room is peaceful and serene. Perfect for centering before class, or taking a private yoga session with one of our certified teachers. The third yoga space is designed for facilitating our Kundalini classes, Pre-natal,Karma/Meditation and special events. A full yoga experience and program all at one yoga studio!

Guruv Yoga has been created to allow people of all ages and stages of life to find the right style, teacher and class level to suit their specific needs.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
A challenging body/mind adventure incorporating asanas, breathing, mindfulness and awesome music for a complete yoga experience. Build a stronger body while releasing stress and fatigue.

For the physically active.
Hatha Yoga
Class integrates the postures, breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation to harmonize you on every level. It is a delicious, mindful and moving class.

All levels welcome and recommended as a starting place for beginners.
Community Flow
This class will be sure to invigorate the system,detox, stretch and strengthen the body, and put you in a blissful mindset.

This is an ALL LEVELS WELCOME flow yoga class.
Gentle Yoga
One hour of gentle hatha yoga. Great for new students, stress reduction, recovering from injuries, seniors (65+), or anyone wanting to start their day off in a blissful way.

This class offered to our senior community for $5 rate.
Hot Yoga
Consists of a balanced, healthy sequence of Hatha Yoga postures praticed in a heated room. BE PREPARED TO SWEAT!

Appropriate for newcomers as well as experienced yogis
Yin Yoga
Targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.

Suitable for almost all levels of students.
Insight Meditation
Breathing,relaxation and guided meditation for a clearer mind,relaxed body, and refreshed spirit!

Bhakti Flow
Bhakti is the yoga of love and devotion to the god of one's own unique understanding. The flow part refers to the flowing sequence known as vinyasa.

Prenatal Yoga
Focusing on postures that are appropriate for pregnant women with an emphasis on breathing, relaxation, and muscle toning.

Kid's Yoga
These fun and engaging classes explore yoga poses, games, breathing and relaxation exercises Encouraging social skills and fun, young yoga students develop strength, flexibility, concentration and confidence.

Children ages 4-10 years old
Ballet Barre Essential
A 55 minute fusion of Ballet, Yoga and Pilates targeting all of the muscle groups while creating a well balanced, long, lean and strong body. Set to a great musical playlist that is sure to inspire.

Socks are required.

Finding the style of yoga that best suits your needs is crucial to having a great experience. Why not start with one style such as Hatha, build confidence in your poses, then move on to a new style to discover and develop the asanas into linked and flowing sequences?

 

Pilates Reformer

PILATES REFORMER PRIVATE AND DUET SESSIONS

Karen Burris,  Certified Pilates mat and apparatus trainer, now  offers pilates personal training sessions at our Yoga Studio.

Karen combines the original exercises of Joseph Pilates with a modern twist. She has the knowledge to create the workout that will strengthen and tone the body with an increase in flexibility and improved posture.

You will work around any disabilities you may have and increase flexibility and strength for total body toning and strength without building bulk. The focus is on strengthening the “powerhouse”

With Karen’s energy and individual creativity   – Your workout will never be boring !

Get ready to move and play in our Community Yoga Class. This class is designed around the level and needs of the attending students.Different every week, but packed with tons of teacher / student interaction.
All levels welcomed

PHYSICAL OR MEDICAL ISSUES
We all have our particular health concerns or issues, be it an old sports injury or a tender lower back. We cannot stress enough just how important it is to communicate any pre-existing medical problems to your teacher before class.
Teachers will tailor the Yoga poses to accommodate your needs. This is particularly true for people recovering from injuries, with chronic muscular-skeletal issues, or those recovering from surgical or medical procedures.

FINALLY…

DRESS should be comfortable. Wear loose-fitting or non-restrictive clothing and avoid accessories that could impede your movement. Classes are barefoot.

PERFUME is a no. Please…help us maintain a fragrance-free environment.

AN EMPTY STOMACH will ensure you are more comfortable in class. Wait two to three hours after a meal or a half hour after a light snack or drink. Avoid sipping water during class, but drink plenty afterwards.

YOGA MATS can be borrowed before class or purchased at the studio.
We recommend you have your own.

CHECK-IN at the front desk, take off your shoes, turn off your cell phone and log in on the sign up sheet.

TALK to the teacher.
If you’re new why not enter the studio a few minutes early and introduce yourself to the teacher? Those having to leave early should tell the teacher before class.

Guruv Tapas: Tapas is the third Niyama, as described by Patanjali, in The Yoga Sutras is a spiritual discipline with the objective of self-transformation and spiritual purification.

Spanish Tapas consist of many small, individual dishes of food that can act as appetizers or, they can be eaten as an incredibly varied meal.

Guruv Tapas are 30 minute private classes that will deepen your  yoga practice and help overcome any  obstacles you may be facing.

Truly hands on… it’s just you and an instructor, exploring alignment, breath and bandhas, so vital and  necessary to achieve  balance and stillness in your practice.

Choose from one of our “menu” items, or create one of your own. We are happy to customize a “dish” for your specific needs.

“Here Comes The Sun” A detailed break down of the sun salutations perfect for beginners as well as seasoned yogis. Make sure you are getting the maximum benefit from these movements.

“Happy Heart” Opening the front body, expanding the chest, bending backwards, this class will help you to connect with the source of all emotion in the body.

“Seeing Through Different Eyes” A source of fear for many students, Inversions help us see the world from a different perspective.  Safely building strength and confidence, this class will have you reaping the benefits of these intimidating asanas

“Fly Like A Bird” Arm Balances such as Crane, Crow, Side Crow and Tolasana are within your grasp. Spread your wings and fly up off the earth.

“Kiss The Earth” This class focuses on using adjustments to go deeper in seated poses. Opening the hips, stretching the hamstrings, wringing out tension, we gently encouraging the body to release and return to its natural state.

Program Overview
Guruv Yoga’s 268 hour Comprehensive Yoga Teacher Training Program will cover the practical, theoretical, historical, and spiritual aspects of the science of Hatha Yoga. The program requires considerable energy, time, dedication, and commitment. The student will leave with a thorough education and how to teach Hatha Yoga, the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, Hot Yoga and Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga. The candidate must have a dedicated personal practice, heightened awareness, and an abundance of inspiration and passion, that will fully prepare them to share the gift of yoga. Class size is limited.
Students will be required to observe and assist weekly with classes at Guruv Yoga. There will be pre-course reading and writing assignments plus several written and oral exams during the training program. A final written and oral exam will be given at the end of the program.
